Grand Rapids, MI – Foremost Insurance Group is expanding its Dwelling Fire program in Indiana effective May 1, 2010. Foremost® is targeting standard and preferred landlord customers with new, larger discounts.

“We've improved our competitive position in the market by targeting standard and preferred business in addition to non-standard business,” says Karen Marszalec, Foremost zone executive director. “Along with the numerous discounts the new program offers to help agents sell and retain business, there is also an overall rate decrease of 17% for Landlord business and 5.9% for Dwelling Fire business.”

Some of the changes to the Dwelling Fire program include:   

  • The use of Financial Responsibility Scores as a rating parameter for landlord business (new business only) with a discount of up to 25%.
  • Homes up to 15 years old may qualify for an Age-of-Home discount of 2% to 25%.
  • Owners with another personal lines or qualifying life policy with Foremost, Farmers®, Bristol West® or 21st Century may qualify for a 5% discount.
  • Owners with multiple properties insured with Foremost may qualify for a discount of up to 10%.
  • Owners using a Property Management Company may receive a discount.
  • Landlord Association members may receive a discount.
