Foremost® Insurance Expands Landlord Program in Illinois

GRAND RAPIDS , Michigan – Foremost Insurance Group is pleased to announce the expansion of its Landlord program in Illinois. Effective September 1, 2009, Foremost introduces a new Landlord program designed for the unique needs of landlord properties. Foremost is now positioned to write a broad spectrum of landlord and rental property customers with the coverages customers want.

Typically known as the solution for hard-to-place landlord and owner-occupied properties, Foremost enhanced their program to include standard and preferred business.

“We have the broadest appetite in the marketplace and we specialize in this business,” says Karen Marszalec, Foremost zone executive director. “Our pricing, product and claims processes are all focused on providing the most competitive and valuable product for policyholders and agents.”

Some of the changes to the Landlord program include: 

  • Decreased rates for landlord business, especially for higher-valued homes.
  • Introduction of credit is used as a rating parameter for landlord business, with a discount of up to 25% for Superior Financial Responsibility (new policies only).
  • Homes up to 15 years old may qualify for an Age-of-Home discount up to 25%.
  • Owners with another Foremost, Farmers®, Bristol West® or Zurich® policy will qualify for a discount.
  • Landlords with multiple properties qualify for additional discounts.
  • Vacation rental properties are now accepted.
