Foremost Insurance Expands Dwelling Fire Program in Kansas

(Grand Rapids, MI) – Foremost Insurance Group is pleased to announce the expansion of its Dwelling Fire program in Kansas effective October 15, 2009. Foremost is positioned to write a broad spectrum of landlord and rental property customers with the coverages customers want, lowering rates and offering new, larger discounts.

Typically known as the solution for hard-to-place landlord and owner-occupied properties, Foremost is enhancing its program to include standard and preferred business.

"We’re excited about more opportunities to insure even more landlords, since we are expanding outside of the non-standard business we have always provided," says Karen Marszalec, Foremost zone executive director. "The numerous discounts in the new program are a great benefit to agents and their customers, offering a competitive price for quality coverage.”

Some of the discounts offered include:

  • Financial responsibility may qualify customers for a 10% discount.
  • Owners with another Foremost, Farmers®, Bristol West® or Zurich® policy may qualify for a discount.
  • Owners without prior claims may receive a discount.
  • New discounts for professional landlords using a Property Management Company, who belong to a Landlord Association, conduct tenant screening or have multiple properties insured with Foremost are now available.

With Foremost’s broadened underwriting, the company now accepts:

  • Vacation rental properties
  • Homes with open foundations
