Foremost Insurance Expands Dwelling Fire Program in Idaho

Grand Rapids, MI – Effective June 1, 2009, Foremost introduced new Dwelling Fire policies and endorsements specifically designed for the unique needs of landlord, owner-occupied or vacant properties. Foremost has decreased base rates by an average of 18%, offers new, larger discounts and accepts more landlord and rental property risks.

“We've provided numerous discounts in the new program because we know that they're not only strong attractors for new customers, but an excellent retention tool,” says Rod Ellisor, Foremost zone executive director. “Plus, we’re not just selling to a non-standard market anymore. We’ve improved our position against other competitors.”

With Foremost’s broadened underwriting, the company now accepts:

  • Vacation rental properties
  • Homes with open foundations
  • Customers with up to five losses

Customers may qualify for a discount if they:

  • Own a home less than 18 years old (Age-of-Home discount up to 20%)
  • Have another Foremost, Farmers®, Bristol West® or Zurich® policy
  • Have no prior claims

Changes to the Dwelling Fire program also include offering Theft coverage up to $5,000 and limits up to $1 million for Liability and Personal Injury coverage.
