Foremost Insurance Expands Dwelling Fire Program in Nevada

GRAND RAPIDS , Michigan –Foremost Insurance Group is pleased to announce the expansion of its Dwelling Fire program in Nevada. Effective July 1, 2009, Foremost is introducing new Dwelling Fire policies and endorsements specifically designed for the unique needs of landlord, owner-occupied or vacant properties. Now Foremost is positioned to write a broader spectrum of landlord and rental property customers, and is offering lower rates and new, larger discounts.

Typically known as the solution for hard-to-place landlord and owner-occupied properties, Foremost is enhancing its program to include standard and preferred business.

All new business will be written on the new Dwelling Fire One or Dwelling Fire Three policies, while current customers will be moved into the new program at renewal.

“We've improved our competitive position in the market, so we're not just limited to non-standard business anymore,” says Rodney Ellisor, Foremost zone executive director. “We've also provided numerous discounts in the new program because they're an excellent retention tool for agents.”

With Foremost’s broadened underwriting, the company now accepts:

  • Vacation rental properties
  • Homes with open foundations
  • Customers with up to five losses

Some of the discounts offered include:

  • Homes up to nine years old may qualify for an Age-of-Home discount, up to 20%.
  • The Superior Financial Responsibility discount has increased to 20%.
  • Insurance scores for landlord risks are used and a discount of up to 20% is available.
  • Owners with another Foremost, Farmers®, Bristol West® or Zurich® policy may qualify for a discount.
  • Owners without prior claims may receive a discount.
  • New discounts for professional landlords using a Property Management Company, who belong to a Landlord Association, conduct tenant screening or have multiple properties insured with Foremost are now available.
